“Ebya kayisaali” which is translated from Luganda as what belongs to Caesar. This piece of work was inspired by the unfair introduction of social media tax in Uganda
and the burning of some music which are said to be political from playing on radios and television. All this is represented in this piece in four pieces: a radio, a ripped
cassette tape to signify the burned music, money, and a newspaper (made out of stitched aluminum printing plate with copper wires). This piece of composition is
a representation of societal objects and unfair taxation levied on Ugandans in the move to infringe on the freedom of expression
and speech on social media and media in general.

Whenever I look at my grandparents while they are engaging in their conversation,
it always strikes me as if I am looking at the time that has been gone since years ago,
those times that we have listened throughout our childhood and have been inspired by.
My aim was to perceive this learning and engrave them on the wall forever.

Have you ever shown concern about the most dangerous natural phenomena that a human has ever harnessed since the first day we became wise?
It was fire that helped us to root our ways to much-untouched wisdom. The most strengthening fact of this event was that we learned to cook food
and extract as many nutrients that we had no knowledge of till then. Right now in the 21st century, we have taken a humongous leap that our poor ancestors
couldn’t. Today we have invented so many effective and efficient ways to cook food but still, there are few among us that are not privileged enough to seek
these new powers of extracting nutrients. This work of mine is a tribute to my mother who used to cook a heavy meal with the old ways in my childhood days.
