This piece reimagines the essence of community by envisioning the heart firmly planted in the ground as its roots permeate the land we share. The negative space counters the energy surrounding the hibiscus flower to evoke a solid and clear foundation for the heart to bloom the flowers of our nature.  The petals of the hibiscus flower radiate out to understand, serve and embrace the communities we are a part of to courageously counter social isolation, which was recently deemed by the U.S.' Surgeon General as the biggest health problem communities  face.
