My name is Monica Gutierrez. Born and raised in Bakersfield, and currently studying at University of California, Berkeley.
My art is drawn towards color combination, abstract expression, and photography. I enjoy findings ways to combine realistic items and render them unrealistically. I am just starting out as an artist, and very excited to see where the direction of my art goes.
My mentality is, painting and photographs is my art, art gives me wings, it is a personal entirety I call my own to describe the feeling and emotions I call my own, it is a personal look at the little girl, the young woman, and the mujar that continues to grow and develop. It is a part of who I am. It is the wings that allow me to fly... How do I show everything that is felt, every emotion that is lived, every moment that is….. how do I begin?
