TO ME ART IS AN OUTPUT OF SELF
Without the ability to actualize an idea or concept, art would not exist. My
work is a constant search for the best way to express & interpret the ideas
that I have about myself and the world I live in. I do not limit myself to one
medium, style, or concept, with time one style transforms into another one.
Inspiration and ideas change. Knowledge changes.
Each piece I create is simultaneously an extension of the past, where I’ve come from, and what I’ve learned, as well as a preview of the future, where I’m going. The most important part of my painting process is when I put paint over my drawing, I do that to take away ownership of that specific work of art because I feel like art is meant to be shared and lets people find themselves in it. I create works that matter to me and luckily enough there is always that one or two people experiencing the same and we get to connect from thereon.
In my recent works, I shed light and talk about the things affecting my society but after a good journey within myself, I came to see that talking and giving answers to some deep scary, shameful, destructive feelings that most of us share in common was a favor I need to do for my society. If a viewer stops for just a moment to view and reflect on a piece I have created, then I have succeeded in my work.
