Born in 1993 and raised in Kampala, Uganda, Kiggundu is a painter and mural artist who works with acrylic paint to develop concepts primarily from a black background. His works are characterized with a lot of colors, patterns and are often figurative. He uses a lot of symbolism in his work giving it a bright colored finish. These are often juxtaposed with the background.
Inspired by his love for art and painting since he was still young, Kiggundu studied Bachelors Of Industrial Art from Makerere University Margaret Trowell School of Industrial and Fine Arts. He often paints about the complexities of man and his surroundings and how these affect our consciousness. He uses art as a vehicle for social justice and social change often working with communities to inspire young people into using art to share their stories authentically.
He has participated in group exhibitions like East African Visual Art Connect Exhibition 2016, Residencies for example Global Arts Festival and Residency Gujarat India, Gandhi Art Camp in Saputara India 2019, Seyna Art Gallery Residency in Entebbe, Namulanda 2021 were he had his first duo show themed "Mindfulness" that highlighted the need to speak about mental health in our communities.
