My art practice investigates the role of psychology, self and identity, surveillance in the social sphere, existential dilemmas, and the role of time and space in shaping my personal and shared experiences. I draw upon questions and thought processes developing from sketchbooks and journaling, realizing this in the form of projects. Self-portraits, grotesque creatures, and text are reoccurring elements in my body of works. These incorporate humor and sarcasm, a sense of absurdism, and reflect a dystopian setting as a common theme.
My mode of working includes drawing, painting, collages, artist books, digital photo manipulation, animations, and video. These forms combined, also expand to installations. Most of my projects develop from ideas scribbled in the sketchbooks. The initial drawings develop in several layers and stages, sometimes incorporating and expanding to different mediums.
