Muvumba
aluminum printing plate and copper wires (Variable)
Muvumba”, a Luganda word that means 'used clothing' which accounts for about 81 percent of garment purchases in Uganda.
This piece of work is part of an ongoing series “muvumba” questioning the increased importation of second-hand clothes
as opposed to cotton growing in Uganda. In this particular piece, I use metal to imitate fabric and construct the
idea of how comfortable it is to wear a second-hand garment or any other article of clothing.
